Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform desalting using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

The progesterone receptor (PR) is a nuclear steroid receptor that mediates the physiological effects of progesterone, crucial for reproductive processes such as pregnancy establishment and maintenance.
PR exists as two isoforms:

  • PR-A (94 kDa) – lacks 165 amino acids at the N-terminus, exposing an inhibitory domain that represses steroid hormone transcriptional activity.
  • PR-B (120 kDa) – transcriptionally active form responsible for endometrium maintenance and ovulation inhibition.

In its inactive state, PgR forms a multiprotein complex with heat shock proteins and immunophilins. Upon progesterone binding, conformational changes lead to receptor dimerization and binding to progesterone response elements (PRE), activating transcription.
Null mutations in the PGR gene cause pleiotropic reproductive abnormalities.
