HLA-DRB4는 HLA class II β chain 패럴로그 중 하나로, α(DRA)와 β(DRB) 체인이 결합된 이형이량체 형태의 막단백질입니다. 이 분자는 세포 외 단백질로부터 유래한 펩타이드를 제시하여 면역 반응에서 중심적인 역할을 합니다. Class II 분자는 항원제시세포(APC: B 림프구, 수지상세포, 대식세포)에 발현됩니다. β 체인은 약 26–28 kDa이며, 6개의 엑손을 포함합니다. DRB1은 DRB3, DRB4, DRB5보다 5배 높은 수준으로 발현되며, DRB4의 존재는 DRB1의 대립유전자 변이에 따라 달라집니다. 관련된 의사유전자는 DRB2, DRB6, DRB7, DRB8, DRB9가 있습니다.
