Product Specific Information
Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
Anti-RFP (Goat) is an IgG fraction purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi-step process including delipidation, salt fractionation, and ion-exchange chromatography, followed by extensive dialysis against the specified buffer. Immunoelectrophoresis shows a single precipitin arc against anti-Goat Serum and purified or partially purified Red Fluorescent Protein (Discosoma). No cross-reactivity was observed with Human, Mouse, or Rat serum proteins.
Reactivity is expected against RFP and its variants: mCherry, tdTomato, mBanana, mOrange, mPlum, mOrange, and mStrawberry.
Target Information
Red Fluorescent Protein (RFP) is isolated from sea anemone (Discosoma sp., Uniprot ID: Q9U6Y8). It is widely used as a molecular tag for studying protein localization, reporter gene expression, and protein-protein interactions. Although naturally a homotetramer, monomeric variants have been engineered for diverse research applications.
