Product Specific Information

• Store vial at 4°C prior to reconstitution.
• For extended storage, aliquot and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
• Centrifuge if product is not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
• Stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
• Anti-Glutamine Synthetase antibody is an IgG fraction purified from monospecific antiserum by delipidation, salt fractionation, ion-exchange chromatography, and extensive dialysis.
• Immunoelectrophoresis shows a single precipitin arc against anti-Goat Serum and purified Glutamine Synthetase (Microbial).
• Cross-reactivity with Glutamine Synthetase from other sources is unknown.

Target Information

Glutamine synthetase is a key enzyme in nitrogen metabolism, catalyzing ammonia incorporation via glutamate dehydrogenase and glutamine synthase pathways.
Glutamate serves as both nitrogen donor and acceptor, playing a central role in mammalian nitrogen flow and neurotransmitter regulation.
The enzyme’s activity is regulated by adenylylation and is known to decrease in the cerebral cortex of brains affected by Alzheimer’s disease or under glucose deprivation conditions.
