Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of ATP citrate lyase only when phosphorylated at Thr447.
Target Information
ATP citrate lyase (ACLY) is the primary enzyme responsible for the synthesis of cytosolic acetyl-CoA in many tissues.
It is a tetramer with a relative molecular weight of approximately 440,000, composed of identical subunits.
The enzyme catalyzes the conversion of citrate and CoA into acetyl-CoA and oxaloacetate, coupled with ATP hydrolysis to ADP and phosphate.
Acetyl-CoA produced by ACLY is essential for biosynthetic pathways such as lipogenesis and cholesterogenesis.
In nervous tissue, ACLY may contribute to acetylcholine biosynthesis.
Two transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
