This antibody detects endogenous levels of MKK6 only when phosphorylated at Thr28.

Target Information

MKK6 (MEK6, MAP2K6) is a member of the dual specificity protein kinase family, functioning as a mitogen-activated protein (MAP) kinase kinase. MAP kinases, also known as extracellular signal-regulated kinases (ERKs), serve as integration points for multiple biochemical signals. MKK6 phosphorylates and activates p38 MAP kinase in response to inflammatory cytokines or environmental stress. It plays a key role in p38 MAP kinase–mediated signal transduction, influencing processes such as stress-induced cell cycle arrest, transcription activation, and apoptosis.

Tissue specificity:

• Isoform 2: Expressed only in skeletal muscle
• Isoform 1: Found in skeletal muscle, heart, and to a lesser extent in liver and pancreas
