Target Information

Guanylyl cyclases catalyze the production of cGMP from GTP and are classified into soluble and membrane forms. Membrane guanylyl cyclases (GC-A to GC-F) act as cell-surface receptors with extracellular ligand-binding, transmembrane, and intracellular catalytic domains. GC-A and GC-B serve as receptors for natriuretic peptides (atrial and brain types). NPR1 is a membrane-bound guanylate cyclase functioning as the receptor for both atrial and brain natriuretic peptides (ANP and BNP).
