Target Information
PRMT2 is an arginine methyltransferase that methylates guanidino nitrogens of arginyl residues in proteins such as STAT3, FBL, and histone H4.
Acts as a coactivator with NCOA2 for androgen receptor (AR)-mediated transactivation and with estrogen for estrogen receptor (ER)-mediated transactivation.
Enhances PGR, PPARG, and RARA-mediated transactivation, may inhibit NF-kappa-B transcription, promote apoptosis, repress E2F1 transcriptional activity (RB1-dependent), and be involved in growth regulation.
