Target Information
Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor-A (VEGF-A) was originally isolated from tumor cells and is produced by a wide range of cell types.
It stimulates vascular growth and permeability, and may also promote vasodilation via nitric oxide-dependent pathways.
Mouse VEGF-A includes variants such as VEGF-120. Rat and bovine VEGF are one amino acid shorter than the human form, with ~95% sequence homology between bovine and human VEGF-A.
