Recombinant Human VEGF-D is a 26.2 kDa, non-disulfide linked, homodimeric protein consisting of two 117 amino acid polypeptide chains. Due to glycosylation, the protein migrates as a 20.0–22.0 kDa band by SDS-PAGE analysis under non-reducing conditions.

Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the platelet-derived growth factor/vascular endothelial growth factor (PDGF/VEGF) family and plays roles in angiogenesis, lymphangiogenesis, and endothelial cell growth. It undergoes complex proteolytic maturation, producing multiple processed forms that bind and activate VEGFR-2 and VEGFR-3 receptors. This protein is structurally and functionally similar to vascular endothelial growth factor C.
