Product Specific Information
- Store vial at -20°C prior to opening.
- Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage.
- Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
- Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
- Stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid.
- Dilute only prior to immediate use.
Reactivity occurs against human PARK7 protein. BLAST analysis shows 100% homology with the immunizing peptide sequence in human, chimpanzee, African green monkey, zebrafish, and mutant/variant forms of human DJ-1 protein. Cross-reactivity with PARK7 from frog, mouse, rat, dog, chicken, Japanese rice fish, and Atlantic salmon may also occur as sequences differ by only one amino acid residue. Reactivity with PARK7 protein from other sources is not known.
Target Information
The PARK7 gene encodes a member of the peptidase C56 family. It acts as a positive regulator of androgen receptor-dependent transcription and may function as a redox-sensitive chaperone and oxidative stress sensor, protecting neurons from oxidative stress and cell death. Defects in this gene cause autosomal recessive early-onset Parkinson disease 7. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified.
