Product Specific Information

MA5-15873 targets XRCC5 in indirect ELISA, FACS, IF, IHC, and WB applications and shows reactivity with human and mouse samples.
The immunogen is a purified recombinant fragment of human XRCC5 expressed in E. coli.
MA5-15873 detects XRCC5, which has a predicted molecular weight of approximately 86 kDa.

Target Information

XRCC5 encodes the 80-kDa subunit of the Ku heterodimer protein, also known as ATP-dependent DNA helicase II or DNA repair protein XRCC5.
Ku functions as the DNA-binding component of the DNA-dependent protein kinase and acts with the DNA ligase IV–XRCC4 complex in the repair of DNA double-strand breaks by non-homologous end joining and in V(D)J recombination events.
This gene complements the Chinese hamster xrs-6 mutant defective in DNA double-strand break repair and V(D)J recombination.
A rare microsatellite polymorphism in XRCC5 is associated with cancer susceptibility in patients with varying radiosensitivity.
