Target Information
Protein p21은 Cyclin-dependent kinase(CDK)의 억제제로 작용하는 종양 억제 단백질이며, p53에 의해 전사 활성화됩니다.
세포가 DNA 손상에 반응할 때 중요한 역할을 하며, G1→S 또는 G2→M 단계로의 전환을 차단하여 DNA 복구를 가능하게 합니다.
핵 내에서는 CDK1, CDK2와 결합하여 세포주기 진행을 억제하며, 세포질에서는 caspase 3, ASK1, JNK를 억제하여 항아포토시스 효과를 나타냅니다.
P21은 암 발생에서 이중적 기능을 가지며, 종양 억제 및 항아포토시스 작용을 동시에 수행합니다.
