Target Information
ADAMTS5 (A Disintegrin And Metalloproteinase with Thrombospondin-5 motif), also known as Implantin or Aggrecanase 2, is a member of the ADAMs metalloproteinase family containing thrombospondin repeats.
It was first described as a protein elevated in mice during the peri-implantation period and also identified as Aggrecanase 11, elevated in arthritic synovium.
ADAMTS5 is expressed in human and mouse tissues including heart, lung, cervix, uterus, ovary, brain, cartilage, and chondroblastoma cell lines.
