Target Information
STAT3는 STAT (signal transducers and activators of transcription) 단백질 계열에 속하며, 수용체 관련 키나아제에 의해 인산화되어 핵으로 이동한 후 전사 인자로 작용합니다. 이 단백질은 사이토카인 및 성장인자에 반응하여 다양한 유전자 발현을 매개하며, 세포 성장과 세포사멸 조절에 중요한 역할을 합니다.
STAT3의 활성화는 JAK1, JAK2에 의한 Tyr705 잔기의 인산화에 의존하며, CREB-binding protein과 같은 공동활성화인자가 필요합니다.
또한 Rac1, PIAS3 등의 단백질이 STAT3의 활성을 조절하며, 세 가지 대체 스플라이싱 변형체가 보고되었습니다.
STAT3 유전자는 인간의 염색체 17q에 위치합니다.
Knock-out 마우스에서 STAT3 결손은 초기 배아 단계에서 치명적입니다.
