Target Information

Many DNA-binding transcriptional activator proteins enhance RNA polymerase II-mediated gene transcription by interacting with the general transcription machinery at the basal promoter. Adaptor proteins such as TADA3L may acetylate and destabilize nucleosomes, relieving chromatin constraints at the promoter. TADA3L is part of the PCAF histone acetylase complex and associates with tumor suppressor protein p53, being required for full p53 activity and apoptosis. Multiple alternatively spliced variants exist, though some full-length forms remain undetermined.
