Target Information
BAFF (B-cell activating factor) is a membrane-bound cytokine expressed by B cell lineage cells. The soluble form binds to receptors TNFRSF13B/TACI, TNFRSF17/BCMA, and TNFRSF13C/BAFFR. BAFF acts as a potent B cell activator, promoting proliferation and differentiation. It is also expressed by T lymphocytes, contributing to T cell activation and survival. Multiple isoforms due to alternative splicing and glycosylation have been identified.
