Reconstitution: Add 25 µL, 50 µL, or 0.2 mL of double distilled water (DDW), depending on the sample size.
The antibody ships as a lyophilized powder at room temperature. Upon arrival, store at -20°C.
The reconstituted solution can be stored at 4°C for up to 1 week. For longer storage, aliquot and keep at -20°C.
Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles. Centrifuge all antibody preparations before use (10,000 × g, 5 min).

Target Information

Alpha-2-adrenergic receptors are members of the G protein-coupled receptor superfamily, including three subtypes: alpha2A, alpha2B, and alpha2C.
These receptors regulate neurotransmitter release from sympathetic nerves and adrenergic neurons in the central nervous system.
The alpha 2B adrenergic receptor subtype associates with eIF-2B, a guanine nucleotide exchange protein involved in translation regulation.
A polymorphic variant lacking three glutamic acids shows decreased phosphorylation and desensitization, linked to reduced basal metabolic rate in obese subjects.
The alpha 2B adrenergic receptor gene contains no introns in either its coding or untranslated sequences.
