Target Information
NTRK2 (TRKB) is part of the neurotrophic factor receptor family essential for the development and maintenance of the mammalian nervous system. It acts as the receptor for brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), regulating synaptic functions and long-term potentiation. TrkB is a membrane-bound tyrosine kinase receptor involved in MAPK pathway activation and cell differentiation. Mutations in TrkB have been linked to obesity and mood disorders. Various splice variants encoding different isoforms exist.
