This antibody detects endogenous levels of PLCG1 only when phosphorylated at Ser1248.
Target Information
The mammalian Phospholipase Cγ (PLCγ) family includes two closely related proteins, PLCγ1 and PLCγ2. These isozymes share core structural domains and possess an additional PH domain, two SH2 domains, and one SH3 domain. Upon extracellular stimulation by hormones or growth factors, receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs) phosphorylate and activate PLCγ. Activated PLCγ catalyzes the hydrolysis of phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate (PIP2) to generate the second messenger molecules inositol 1,4,5-triphosphate (IP3) and diacylglycerol (DAG).
