IGFBP3 (Insulin-like Growth Factor Binding Protein 3) belongs to the IGFBP family and encodes a protein containing both IGFBP and thyroglobulin type-I domains.
This protein forms a ternary complex with IGFALS and IGF-I or IGF-II, circulating in plasma to prolong IGF half-life and modulate receptor interactions.
Multiple isoforms exist due to alternative splicing.
Diseases associated with IGFBP3 include Insulin-Like Growth Factor I and Acid-Labile Subunit Deficiency.
