The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
The B4GALT6 gene is one of seven beta-1,4-galactosyltransferase (beta4GalT) genes. These genes encode type II membrane-bound glycoproteins with specificity for the donor substrate UDP-galactose, transferring galactose in a beta-1,4 linkage to acceptor sugars such as GlcNAc, Glc, and Xyl. Each beta4GalT plays a distinct role in the biosynthesis of glycoconjugates and saccharide structures. As type II membrane proteins, they possess an N-terminal hydrophobic signal sequence that directs the protein to the Golgi apparatus and remains as a transmembrane anchor. The enzyme encoded by this gene acts as a lactosylceramide synthase, essential for glycolipid biosynthesis.
