Target Information
CD97 is a G-protein-coupled seven-span transmembrane adhesive receptor constitutively expressed on granulocytes and monocytes, and rapidly upregulated on T and B cells upon activation.
It is produced in alternatively spliced forms, with CD55 (DAF) as its cellular ligand, which protects cells from complement-mediated damage.
The CD97–CD55 interaction facilitates leukocyte activation and migration, and CD97 may play a role in tumor migration and invasiveness.
Additionally, CD97 is involved in T cell regulation and peripheral granulocyte homeostasis.
