Product Specific Information
- For immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris Buffer with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.

EGFR (Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor) is a receptor tyrosine kinase that mediates cellular signaling in response to growth factors. Overexpression of EGFR has been associated with various cancers and is the target of biological and small-molecule therapeutics.
The EGFR gene is located on chromosome 7 in humans and belongs to the HER/ERbB family, which includes ERbB2, ERbB3, and ERbB4.
EGFR is a transmembrane receptor; ligand binding (e.g., EGF, TGF-α) induces dimerization and autophosphorylation of cytoplasmic tyrosine residues. Overexpression is observed in tumors of the head and neck, brain, bladder, stomach, breast, lung, endometrium, cervix, vulva, ovary, esophagus, and squamous cell carcinoma.
