EGFR (Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor)는 다양한 성장 인자에 반응하는 수용체 티로신 키나아제로, 과발현은 여러 암종과 관련이 있습니다. 인간의 염색체 7에 위치한 EGFR 유전자는 HER/ERbB 단백질 패밀리에 속하며, ERbB2, ERbB3, ERbB4와 함께 작용합니다. EGF 및 TGF-α 등의 리간드가 결합하면 EGFR은 이합체를 형성하고 세포질 도메인 내 티로신 잔기의 자가 인산화를 유도합니다. EGFR 과발현은 두경부, 뇌, 방광, 위, 유방, 폐, 자궁내막, 자궁경부, 외음부, 난소, 식도, 위 및 편평세포암종 등 다양한 종양에서 관찰됩니다.
