For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to reach a final antibody concentration of about 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

BID is a death agonist that heterodimerizes with either agonist BAX or antagonist BCL2. It is a member of the BCL-2 family of cell death regulators. BID mediates mitochondrial damage induced by caspase-8 (CASP8); upon cleavage, the COOH-terminal fragment translocates to mitochondria and triggers cytochrome c release.
BID functions as a pro-apoptotic factor linking caspase-8 activation to mitochondrial death pathways. In living cells, BID exists in an inactive cytosolic form and becomes activated upon cleavage by caspase-8 in response to TNF alpha or Fas ligand. The cleaved p15 fragment of BID translocates to mitochondria, initiating apoptosis.
