Human xylulokinase-like protein (XYLB) is a 58 kDa enzyme belonging to a family that includes fucokinase, gluconokinase, glycerokinase, and xylulokinase. XYLB acts as a key regulator in metabolic disease control and energy metabolism. It has two isoforms produced by alternative splicing with molecular weights of 58 and 43 kDa.
