Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of CDC25A only when phosphorylated at Ser76, which has been historically referenced as Ser75.
Target Information
CDC25A is a member of the CDC25 family of phosphatases. Three CDC25 genes (CDC25A, CDC25B, CDC25C) are present in human cells and function at different phases of the cell cycle.
CDC25A is required for progression through G1 and S phases and activates cyclin-dependent kinase CDC2 by removing two phosphate groups.
CDC25A is specifically degraded in response to DNA damage, preventing cells with chromosomal abnormalities from dividing.
CDC25A is considered an oncogene, though its precise role in oncogenesis remains unclear.
