Target Information
STING is a 379 amino acid signaling protein that plays a critical role in innate immune signaling. It activates NF-κB and IRF3 pathways to induce type I interferons (IFN-α and IFN-β), establishing an antiviral state. STING may also function as a translocon influencing interferon induction and mediates apoptotic signaling via MHC-II association. It is found in the endoplasmic reticulum membrane, cell membrane, and mitochondrial outer membrane, and is ubiquitously expressed across tissues.
