STK39 (STLK3)는 세포 스트레스 반응 경로에 관여하는 단백질로, 저삼투 스트레스에 반응하여 여러 이온-염소 공동수송체를 인산화시킵니다. 또한 p38 MAP kinase 경로를 활성화하며, 스트레스 조건에서 p38과의 상호작용이 감소합니다. STK39는 세포 스트레스 반응의 중간 매개체로 작용하며, 남성 고혈압의 독립적 위험 인자로 보고되었습니다. STK39 유전자 내 SNP는 혈압 조절에 영향을 줄 수 있습니다.
