Target Information
M-phase inducer phosphatase 3 (encoded by the CDC25C gene) is a highly conserved enzyme involved in the regulation of cell division. It acts as a tyrosine phosphatase within the Cdc25 phosphatase family, directing the dephosphorylation of cyclin B-bound CDC2 (CDK1) to trigger mitotic entry. The protein may also suppress p53-induced growth arrest. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described, though the full-length forms of many remain undetermined.
