Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the PSCD family. Members of this family share structural organization with:
- N-terminal coiled-coil motif (homodimerization)
- Central Sec7 domain (guanine-nucleotide exchange protein activity)
- C-terminal pleckstrin homology (PH) domain (phospholipid interaction and membrane association)
These proteins mediate regulation of protein sorting and membrane trafficking. The encoded protein exhibits GEP activity in vitro with ARF1 and ARF5, but not with ARF6. CYTH4 and CYTH1 share similar gene structures.
