  • Reconstitution: Add 50 µL double distilled water (DDW), depending on sample size.
  • Ships as lyophilized powder at room temperature.
  • Upon arrival, store at -20°C.
  • Reconstituted solution can be stored at 4°C for up to 1 week.
  • For longer storage, aliquot and keep at -20°C.
  • Avoid multiple freeze/thaw cycles.
  • Centrifuge all antibody preparations before use (10,000 × g, 5 min).

Target Information

Glutamate is the main excitatory neurotransmitter in the brain. Initially known to act only on ligand-gated receptor channels (NMDA, AMPA, kainate) responsible for fast excitatory synaptic transmission, it is now recognized to regulate enzymes producing second messengers via G-protein–coupled metabotropic glutamate receptors (mGluRs).
Group-I receptors (mGluR1a, mGluR5) stimulate phospholipase C, increasing phosphoinositide turnover and calcium release.
Group-II (mGluR2, mGluR3) and Group-III receptors inhibit adenylyl cyclase.
