Antibody detects endogenous levels of CXCR4 only when phosphorylated at Ser338/339.
Target Information
CXCR4 (also known as Fusin, LESTR, HUMSTR) is a G-protein-coupled chemokine receptor with seven transmembrane domains. It functions as a co-receptor for X4 HIV-1 entry into CD4+ cells and also mediates HIV-2 binding and fusion. CXCR4 serves as the receptor for chemokine CXCL12/SDF-1, leading to increased intracellular calcium and MAPK1/MAPK3 activation. Additionally, it acts as a receptor for extracellular ubiquitin, influencing calcium and cAMP levels. CXCR4 is involved in hematopoiesis, cardiac and vascular development, and neuronal survival, and mediates lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced inflammatory responses. Antibodies against CXCR4 can block HIV-1 and HIV-2 infection of target cells.
