Rabbit anti-porcine tubulin antibody recognizes tubulin, a protein that is the major constituent of microtubules.
Target Information
Tubulin protein is the major constituent of microtubules. It forms a dimer of alpha and beta chains, each binding two molecules of GTP—one at an exchangeable site on the beta chain and one at a non-exchangeable site on the alpha chain.
There are at least six isotypes of both alpha- and beta-tubulin in human cells, encoded by a conserved multigene family.
Microtubules play essential roles in cell division and other cellular functions. Anti-microtubule agents such as Vinca alkaloids and taxanes can disrupt these processes.
