Target Information
Serotonin plays a major role in cardiovascular function and gastrointestinal motility. It mediates effects through G protein-coupled 5-HT (SR) receptors.
The SR-2 receptors include SR-2A, SR-2B, and SR-2C subtypes, which activate phospholipase C and release intracellular calcium in response to serotonin.
