Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is a nuclear hormone receptor for triiodothyronine (T3). It mediates biological activities of thyroid hormone and exhibits functional diversity among receptor isoforms. Knockout studies suggest distinct physiological roles for each receptor variant.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported.
