Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
Beta-catenin is an adherens junction (AJ) protein involved in cell-cell adhesion and epithelial layer maintenance. It interacts with E-cadherin and alpha-catenin, linking the complex to the actin cytoskeleton. Beta-catenin also associates with microtubule complexes and signaling pathways such as Wnt/Wingless, influencing morphogenesis and cell proliferation.
Abnormal beta-catenin activity is implicated in various cancers, including pilomatrixoma, medulloblastoma, colorectal, ovarian, and other solid tumors. In the nucleus, beta-catenin co-activates Lef/Tcf transcription factors, enhancing expression of genes like cyclin D and c-myc.
