Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to reach a final antibody concentration of about 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

Beta-catenin is an adherens junction (AJ) protein involved in cell-cell adhesion and epithelial layer maintenance.
It interacts with E-cadherin and alpha-catenin to link adhesion complexes to the actin cytoskeleton.
Beta-catenin also associates with cytoskeletal complexes containing the adenomatous polyposis coli (APC) protein and participates in signaling pathways such as Wnt/Wingless.
It plays a key role in morphogenesis and is expressed in hair follicle cells and epithelial tissues.
Aberrant beta-catenin activity is implicated in several cancers including colorectal, ovarian, and liver cancers.
In the nucleus, beta-catenin coactivates Lef/Tcf transcription factors that promote genes like cyclin D and c-myc, driving cell proliferation and tumorigenesis.
