Target Information

Neurogenic locus notch homolog protein 2 (NOTCH2) is a highly conserved protein involved in the Notch signaling pathway. It is a type I transmembrane receptor with an extracellular domain containing multiple EGF-like repeats and an intracellular domain with various domain types.
NOTCH2 functions as a receptor for membrane-bound ligands such as Jagged1, Jagged2, and Delta1 to regulate cell-fate determination.
Defects in NOTCH2 cause Alagille syndrome type 2 (ALGS2), an autosomal dominant multisystem disorder characterized by hepatic bile duct paucity, cholestasis, and associated cardiac, skeletal, and ophthalmologic abnormalities.
