Target Information
MAP4K4 (HGK) is a serine/threonine kinase that plays an important role in stress-activated MAPK core signaling pathways and responses to environmental stress and cytokines such as TNF-alpha. It acts upstream of the JUN N-terminal pathway and interacts with the SH3 domain of adapter proteins Nck. HGK binds via its CNH regulatory domain to the N-terminal region of SPG3A. Expression is ubiquitous across tissues, with isoform 5 more abundant in the brain, and isoform 4 predominant in the liver, skeletal muscle, and placenta.
