Target Information
LC3B (Autophagy Marker Light Chain 3B, MAP1A/MAP1B LC3 B) is encoded by the MAP1LC3B gene in humans. LC3B is associated with microtubule assembly and plays an important role in neurogenesis and autophagy.
Autophagy involves degradation of cytoplasmic components via autophagosomes that fuse with lysosomes. LC3B mediates interactions between microtubules and cytoskeletal components and may be involved in cancer, aging, metabolic, neurodegenerative, and cardiovascular/pulmonary diseases.
