Product Specific Information

Intact IgG appears on a non-reducing gel as ~150 kDa band and upon reduction generates a ~25 kDa light chain band and a ~50 kDa heavy chain.

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Advantages include:

  • Better specificity and sensitivity
  • Lot-to-lot consistency
  • Animal origin-free formulations
  • Broader immunoreactivity to diverse targets due to larger rabbit immune repertoire

Target Information

The serum amyloid A (SAA) family comprises differentially expressed apolipoproteins, including acute-phase SAA1 and SAA2, with SAA1 being the major plasma component. Although primarily synthesized in the liver, extrahepatic production has been reported.

In vivo concentrations can increase up to 1000-fold during inflammation. SAA is important in diagnosing and monitoring various diseases, often showing elevated levels even when CRP is normal. SAA rises earlier and more sharply than CRP, providing a sensitive marker for inflammatory responses.

Recently, a broader view of SAA expression and function has been emerging.
