Target Information
CHEK2 (CHK2) is a serine/threonine kinase involved in the DNA damage checkpoint pathway. Mutations in CHK2 have been linked to various cancers. Upon DNA damage, CHK2 phosphorylates multiple cell cycle regulators, including tumor suppressor proteins such as BRCA1, aiding in DNA repair and cell survival. CHK2 acts as a tumor suppressor, with mutations associated with Li-Fraumeni syndrome, sarcomas, breast cancer, and brain tumors.
