Target Information
이 유전자가 암호화하는 단백질은 미토콘드리아 막 호흡 사슬 NADH 탈수소효소의 핵심 서브유닛입니다. 포유류 미토콘드리아 복합체 I은 43개 이상의 서로 다른 서브유닛으로 구성되어 있으며, 이 중 7개는 미토콘드리아 게놈에 의해, 나머지는 핵 유전자에 의해 암호화됩니다. 복합체 I의 철-황 단백질 분획은 7개의 서브유닛으로 구성되며, 이 유전자 산물이 그 중 하나입니다. 복합체 I은 NADH 산화와 유비퀴논 환원을 촉매하며, 미토콘드리아 외부로 프로톤을 방출합니다. 이 유전자의 돌연변이는 미토콘드리아 복합체 I 결핍과 관련이 있습니다. 또한, 다양한 아이소폼을 암호화하는 대체 스플라이싱 전사체 변이가 보고되었습니다.
