Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of RET only when phosphorylated at Tyr1015.
Target Information
The receptor tyrosine kinase RET is a member of the cadherin superfamily and plays a crucial role in neural crest development. RET can undergo oncogenic activation by cytogenetic rearrangement and transduces signals for cell growth and differentiation.
Mutations in the RET gene are associated with multiple endocrine neoplasia type IIA and IIB, Hirschsprung disease, and medullary thyroid carcinoma. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified, and additional variants have been described but not fully validated.
