- In Western blots, approximately 25% cross-reactivity with recombinant human ACE and 5% cross-reactivity with recombinant human ACE-2 is observed.
- Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
Target Information
This gene encodes an enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of angiotensin I into angiotensin II, a potent vasopressor and aldosterone-stimulating peptide regulating blood pressure and fluid-electrolyte balance. It plays a critical role in the renin-angiotensin system.
Studies have linked the presence or absence of a 287 bp Alu repeat element in this gene with circulating enzyme levels and cardiovascular pathophysiologies. Two major alternatively spliced variants encode somatic and testicular forms, both active. Additional variants exist but are not fully characterized.
