Product Specific Information

The SJ25C1 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD19, a 95 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on B cells throughout development except in terminally differentiated plasma cells. Follicular dendritic cells also express CD19.
CD19 forms a complex with CD21, CD81, Leu13, and MHC class II, associating with the BCR to mediate signaling that induces tyrosine phosphorylation, calcium flux, and B cell proliferation. SJ25C1 and HIB19 antibodies recognize overlapping epitopes.

  • Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
  • Applications Tested: Pre-diluted and tested for flow cytometry using normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended 5 µL (0.5 µg) per test (100 µL final volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).

Brilliant Ultra Violet™ 395 (BUV395) emits at 395 nm and is suitable for cytometers equipped with a 355 nm UV laser. Ensure instrument compatibility.

When using multiple polymer dye-conjugated antibodies (e.g., Super Bright, Brilliant Violet™, Brilliant Ultra Violet™), use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401-42) or Brilliant Stain Buffer™ (Product # 00-4409-75) to minimize non-specific interactions.

Target Information

CD19 is an immunoglobulin superfamily member expressed on all peripheral B cells (kappa or lambda light chain positive) and certain myeloid leukemia cells.
It is the earliest and broadest B cell–restricted antigen, playing a key role in regulating B cell activation and proliferation. CD19 functions as a signal-amplifying co-receptor for the B cell receptor (BCR) and can also signal independently.
Mutations in CD19 can result in hypogammaglobulinemia, while overexpression leads to B cell hyperactivity.
