This antibody recognizes the porcine homologue of human CSF1R, also known as CSF-1R, M-CSF receptor, CD115 and c-fms. CSF1R (CD115) is a single-pass type I transmembrane protein belonging to the type III protein kinase family and is the cell surface receptor for both CSF1 and IL-34. Evidence from comparative sequence analysis across a range of vertebrate species indicates that CSF1 and IL-34 interact with distinct regions of CSF1R.

Target Information

CSF1R (FMS) is involved in the production, differentiation, and function of macrophages and is implicated in promyelocytic leukemias. Ligand binding activates the receptor kinase through oligomerization and transphosphorylation. CSF1R is a tyrosine kinase transmembrane receptor and member of the CSF1/PDGF receptor family of tyrosine-protein kinases. Mutations in CSF1R are associated with a predisposition to myeloid malignancy.
It acts as a cell-surface receptor for CSF1 and IL34 and regulates survival, proliferation, and differentiation of hematopoietic precursor cells, especially mononuclear phagocytes such as macrophages and monocytes. It promotes release of proinflammatory chemokines in response to IL34 and CSF1 and plays a key role in innate immunity and inflammatory processes.
The first intron of the CSF1R gene contains a transcriptionally inactive ribosomal protein L7 processed pseudogene oriented in the opposite direction.
