Product Specific Information
- In direct ELISAs, approximately 20% cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse IL-17 RC and 5% cross-reactivity with recombinant human IL-17 R, IL-17 RD, and IL-17B R is observed.
- Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
Target Information
This gene encodes a single-pass type I membrane protein similar to the interleukin-17 receptor (IL-17RA). Unlike IL-17RA, which is mainly expressed in hemopoietic cells and binds IL-17A with high affinity, IL17RC is expressed in non-hemopoietic tissues and binds both IL-17A and IL-17F with similar affinities.
IL-17A and IL-17F are proinflammatory cytokines implicated in inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. Multiple alternatively spliced variants encoding different isoforms have been identified, and soluble forms lacking transmembrane and intracellular domains may act as extracellular antagonists to cytokine signaling.
